About the artwork
This abstract composition of red and black plays with different levels of color dilution. This work, similar to the wash technique, lends the work dynamics of both tone and form. In this way, the most diluted hues spread naturally across the canvas, blending together to create soft, fluid forms. Conversely, the brightest colors support dynamic lines, tracing the artist's gestures and physical commitment. The work thus takes on an almost autonomous form, between calligraphic lines and diluted colors.
Expert opinion
This work is representative of Chen Jiang-Hong's mastery of different painting techniques and levels of intensity. He oscillates between diluted washes and intense strokes to create abstract, expressive compositions.
