Chen Jiang-Hong

Born in 1963 in Tianjin (China), Chen Jiang-Hong is an artist who lives and works in Paris. He studied at the Tianjin School of Fine Arts and the prestigious Beijing School of Fine Arts before joining the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1987. His work is a blend of Chinese cultural heritage and French plastic influences. He creates abstract works with long-haired brushes, similar to those used in calligraphy. The use of these brushes enables him to engage his body and capture its movement. This amplitude and plastic resonance echoes lyrical abstraction practices. The artist is also acclaimed for his production of illustrated children's books. He had his first solo exhibition in Paris while still a student in 1989, and numerous others since. He is currently represented by Galerie Taménaga.
