About the artwork
In the heart of a pale mountain, imbued with shades of pink, purple and yellow, a cyclist emerges, valiantly climbing the slopes. A car follows close behind, as he strives to catch up with the frontrunner. Inside the car, a passenger is visible, holding a loudspeaker or camera, expressing obvious support or the desire to capture this exceptional performance. The shadows cast by the cyclist, the car and the relay antenna blend with the tracks of the bicycle wheels on the snow-covered ground, creating a dynamic artistic dimension that accentuates the intensity of the effort and the passing of the competitors. The subtle, delicate palette evokes the challenge of climbing in a mountainous landscape. The title of the work, Fausto, pays homage to Fausto Coppi, an Italian cyclist considered one of the greatest in the history of the sport. This reference is made possible by Will Barras's knowledge of cycling, which he is passionate about.

“When people look at my art, or appreciate art in general, it's because it's a place where you can just have a little space away from reality. I think art is a good way to escape, a chance to dream.”
