Alex Bloch, connu sous le nom de LX ONE, est né à Strasbourg, en France, en 1979. Son parcours artistique a débuté dans le milieu du graffiti au tournant du siècle, avant qu’il ne s’oriente vers le travail en atelier et les installations en galerie. La pratique de Bloch trouve ses racines dans une fascination pour les motifs géométriques et explore la relation entre la géométrie, la perception et la matière. Il intègre des outils numériques à son processus créatif, travaillant divers matériaux tels que le métal, le bois, le papier, la toile, l’acrylique, la peinture en aérosol, l’encre, le sable et le béton.
Le travail de Bloch est influencé par les mouvements d’avant-garde du XXe siècle, notamment le constructivisme, le minimalisme, De Stijl, le néoplasticisme, le brutalisme et l’Op Art. Il cite Theo Van Doesburg, Vasarely, François Morellet, Daniel Buren et Georges Rousse comme sources d’inspiration, ainsi que le concept japonais du wabi-sabi.
