Liu Ye

Chinese artist born in 1964. Graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. Liu Ye is an artist known for his colorful style. Drawing his inspiration from the works of artists such as Piet Mondrian and Paul Klee, his work is colorful, joyful and childlike, while reactivating the practice of the great names of modern European art, as if to demonstrate his opposition to the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Present in collections around the world, his work can be admired in the permanent collections of the Shanghai Art Museum and the Long Museum.
