About the artwork
This acrylic painting on wood is part of A Ruiz Villar's abstract, geometric approach, in which lines, superimpositions and vivid colors construct a composition that is both rigorous and sensitive. His aesthetic evokes fragmented urban landscapes and a search for memory and trace, in his own words, "scars" and "maps" that recount inner experiences (Saatchi Art, Matiz Gallery).
Expert opinion
Alberto Ruiz Villar was born in Barcelona in 1977, where he lives and works. Graduating in graphic design from Escola Massana in 1996, he worked as an art director and photographer before devoting himself fully to painting, exhibiting in Barcelona, Madrid and internationally, notably at fairs such as JustMad and Swab Barcelona (Matiz Gallery). His work explores architecture, urban structures and emotional tensions, transforming geometry into narrative language, in an aesthetic where each form seems a fragment of a larger narrative.
