About the artwork
The works "Terre inconnue" and "Terrain connu" by François Righi are projects that explore themes of space, geometry and perception of the world. "Terre inconnue" is part of the artist's research into the idea of an unexplored territory, a world to be discovered, or even a world that escapes comprehension. In contrast to "Terre inconnue", "Terrain connu" seems to explore the idea of a familiar, controlled space, a place we know and feel comfortable in.
These two works, though different, complement each other, offering a reflection on how humans perceive, appropriate and redefine spaces, whether physical, emotional or mental. Righi plays with oppositions and the fluidity of boundaries between the known and the unknown.
