About the artwork
This work by Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques features three photographs in a frame designed for seven, with the other four spaces left empty. Two of the photos show arches opening onto a landscape blending city and nature, while the third features a woman seated from behind, whose form is a direct echo of the arches. This visual dialogue links architecture, the human body and landscape. The empty spaces accentuate a reflection on absence and narrative potential. The ensemble questions the relationship between full and empty, natural and constructed, absence and presence.
Expert opinion
This work is emblematic of Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques' approach, which explores the tensions between architecture, the human body and landscape through visual and poetic reflection.
