About the artwork
Stationnement interdit is a welded wall sculpture created in 2006. The work is composed of fragmented circular metal elements, assembled on a rectangular metal support. These elements come from industrial objects that have been cut up, broken and recomposed to create a dynamic relief. The surface is dominated by an intense red combined with graphic black shapes. The repetition of circular shapes structures the composition, while their fragmentation introduces visual tension and a sense of movement. Exposed welds, rough edges and traces of impact are deliberately preserved, highlighting the physical process of fabrication and the transformation of functional objects into abstract sculptural form. Presented as a mural, the sculpture lies on the border between painting, sculpture and object. The signature engraved directly into the metal asserts the work's material identity and its direct link with industrial processes.
