About the artwork
This work by Bryce Delplanque depicts a classic-looking teapot, divorced from any narrative or context. The object is painted in dark tones, a metallic turquoise blue that blends into a deep black, creating a play of light and shadow on the teapot's folds and curves. Bryce Delplanque seems to play with the reinterpretation of domestic objects, blurring the boundary between art and life. In this series, it is above all the colors that seem to bring the objects to life and animate them.
Expert opinion
Bryce Delplanque creates a contemporary reinterpretation of an old object, breathing new life into it while preserving its original characteristics.
