About the artwork
This work is a modern, pop reinterpretation of Leonardo da Vinci's iconic Mona Lisa. Here, Jisbar uses collage, vibrant colors and annotations to deconstruct and reconstruct the universally known image of the Mona Lisa. The green background contrasts with the graphic and textual elements that surround and transform the figure. The work abounds in humorous, symbolic and sometimes provocative details, such as handwritten words, spontaneous drawings and references to popular culture. Each fragment of the collage adds a new layer of interpretation, offering an uncomplicated and playful vision of classic art.
Expert opinion
Mona Collage Green is an exemplary piece in Jisbar's artistic approach, revisiting an iconic masterpiece in his own way.
