About the artwork
This print is a detail of another of the artist's works, to be exhibited at Château La Coste in 2021. These were two large frescoes named Mistral Days, made of red clay from the Vallauris region, the French capital of pottery and fine ceramics. These works represented the uncontrollable wind of Provence. Richard Long chose to focus on one detail of these monumental works to highlight his technique, like a zoom on the very texture and substance of his work.
Expert opinion
This work, characteristic of the artist's practice, echoes the work presented in this exhibition.
