About the artwork
This work features a black piano on an intense red background. The simplicity of the setting accentuates the symbolic power of the piano, the instrument par excellence of musical creation and emotion. The deep, uniform red of the background evokes passion, energy and a certain theatricality, perfectly in tune with the expressive character of the music. Jérôme Rudin invites us to reflect on the relationship between visual art and sound art.
Expert opinion
"Le Piano Noir sur Fond Rouge" is an emblematic work in Jérôme Rudin's style. It's a work that challenges us as much for its visual intensity as for the questions it raises about the interaction between music, color and feeling.
