About the artwork

This wooden sculpture is a miniature version of the famous coffins for which Paa Joe is renowned. Shaped like an eagle, the work transforms and opens, revealing the hollow of the sculpture. The choice of the eagle, a majestic animal symbolizing power and freedom, reinforces the symbolic depth of the work. Paa Joe combines tradition in the use of wood and modernity in a piece that is both articulated and symbolic.
