“Crinoline 3” is part of the series developed by Ron Arad that explores the metal line as a spatial concept. About the artist

Ron Arad (b. 1951, Tel Aviv, Israel) is a designer, architect and artist internationally renowned for his experimental approach to materials and form. After studying at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, he moved to London, where he continued his training at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. In 1981, he and Dennis Groves founded the One Off studio, which rapidly became a laboratory for experimentation with recycled steel furniture and sculptural forms. His famous Rover Chair, made from a car seat integrated into a metal structure, marked the start of a career in which art, design and architecture intersected freely. In 1989, he founded Ron Arad Associates, developing projects in architecture, public installations and industrial design. His work is characterized by a constant tension between industrial rigor and formal freedom, combining advanced technologies and artisanal processes. His work can be found in the collections of major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Today, Ron Arad is considered one of the leading figures in contemporary design, on the borderline between functional sculpture and experimental art.
