About the artwork

Colors of the Heart, created in 2024 by FLOG, is a transparent resin sculpture that explores the relationship between body, emotion and color through a stylized child figure. The figure, standing head-on, adopts an introspective posture, partially covering his face with his hands, as if simultaneously protecting and revealing himself. The surface of the sculpture is animated by brightly colored drips, mainly reds, yellows, blues and greens, which seem to flow through the body and concentrate on the face and limbs, evoking a materialization of internal emotions. The contrast between the sober, opaque clothing and the dynamic, translucent color zones reinforces the tension between outer appearance and inner life. The resin, with its transparency and brilliance, accentuates the visual depth of the work and gives the impression that color is in motion, like an organic flow. Produced in a limited edition of 35 pieces, of which this one bears the number 27, the piece is part of a contemporary reflection on identity, sensitivity and the representation of the body as a vector of emotions.

Expert opinion

This sculpture by FLOG illustrates a contemporary approach that blends figurative aesthetics and accessible emotional language, and is part of a current trend in resin-edited sculpture. The artist succeeds in creating a work that is immediately legible, while retaining a strong symbolic dimension, notably through the use of color as a direct expression of inner states. The contrast between the apparent neutrality of the silhouette and the intensity of the colored drips gives the piece a strong visual identity, likely to appeal to a wider audience than traditional collectors. The quality of manufacture, linked to the medium used, as well as the limited edition of 35 pieces, contribute to structuring its value on the market. The condition of the resin appears to be excellent, given the images provided, with a smooth, homogeneous surface and no visible alterations. This work is part of a dynamic collection of contemporary figurative art and published art objects, with the potential to appeal to a public sensitive to pieces that are both decorative and conceptual.

About the artist

Florian Gaborit, aka Flog, is a French artist born in Cholet in 1984. Fascinated by drawing from an early age, he studied graphic design at the prestigious Pivaut school in Nantes. Influenced by graffiti and pop culture, Flog creates dreamlike, romantic and sometimes sarcastic works. His art invites viewers to interpret stories without words, focusing instead on the atmosphere and context surrounding his figures. These scenes offer an immersive, almost unsettling narrative, allowing the audience to create their own emotional connection to the work. Flog's art is defined by his mixed techniques involving spray paint, acrylic and oil, applied to a variety of media, such as road signs and canvas. The result is art that is as technical as it is expressive, revealing his mastery of multiple mediums and his unique ability to combine street art and classical art.It is through his "Hommes de verre" series, initiated in 2020, that he creates his own graphic identity and artistic universe. He has exhibited in a number of international galleries, including Verticale Gallery in Chicago in 2023, Exclusive Urban Art Gallery in Rome in 2023 and GCA Gallery in Paris in 2022.
