About the artwork

This abstract work presents two juxtaposed organic forms. Although the interpretation remains open, they suggest the representation of fossils, offering a philosophical dimension to the whole. The artist seems to have captured archaeological traces, which he transcribes onto the drawing sheet. He frequently refers to the importance of a trip to Athens in the development of his visual language. Bruce French sees his artistic practice as a visual and autobiographical diary: the question of memory and traces is of particular interest to him.

Expert opinion

The link with Bruce French's sculptural practice is clear in this charcoal work.

More recently, London's 99 Projects gallery hosted his creations from March 4 to 27, 2022 for an exhibition entitled Rebirth".

“I felt I'd found a link between ancient sculptures and today's social networks, connecting past and present. These broken fragments are remnants of the way a culture had projected and defined itself with statues of gods and myths that explained and prophesied all aspects of the human condition.”
