Stéphane Calais

Born in Arras in 1967, Stéphane Calais is a contemporary artist living and working in France. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Nîmes and the Institut des Hautes Études en Arts Plastiques, he has developed an eclectic artistic practice, combining drawings, paintings, installations and sculptures. He will become a professor at the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2019. Stéphane Calais was nominated for the Fondation entreprise Ricard prize in 2007 and the Marcel Duchamp prize in 2008. He has exhibited in France, notably at the Centre Pompidou in 2024, the Palais de Tokyo in 2016, and the MAC-VAL in 2015, as well as abroad at fairs such as Art Brussels and Art Basel in Switzerland. He is currently represented by the Gilles Drouot and Loewe&Co galleries, both in Paris.
