Song Xi

Song Xi was born in China in 1983. In 2015, he won the "Tomorrow Contemporary Sculpture Award", making him one of the artists to watch on the Chinese contemporary scene. His committed work questions authoritarian political systems and the tools put in place to contain the spread of knowledge and dissident thought. Through a highly diversified practice comprising installations, performances and sculptures, Song Xi also questions the ideologies that emanate from our socialized and constrained bodies. His work has been shown worldwide, including at ArtBrussels, Art Basel Hong Kong, Asia Now and the Beijing Photography Biennale. He is also part of the collection of the Yell Space Museum in Shanghai.
