Rana Begum

Born in 1977 in Sylhet (Bangladesh), Rana Begum lives and works in London. A graduate of Chelsea College of Art and Design and the Slade School of Fine Art, her work combines sculpture, painting and installation, influenced by Islamic architecture, light and the repetition of motifs. Winner of the Abraaj Group Art Prize in 2017, she has exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Tate, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Centre Pompidou. Her work questions the perception of space, color and light, through an abstraction of great formal precision.
