Amalia Ulman

Argentine artist, born in 1989. Lives and works in Los Angeles (USA). At the crossroads of many social issues, Amalia Ulman's work explores the relationships between consumerism and identity, gender and class. Although she uses a variety of original media in her art, her main focus is on performance. Her best-known work, Excellences et perfections (2014), is a performance art piece using Instagram as a site of expression. Acquired by the Tate Modern (London, UK), this performance has led her to be considered the first artist to bring Instagram to the Tate Modern. Internationally recognized, Amalia Ulman has exhibited at the Utah Contemporary Art Museum (USA), the Whitechapel Gallery (London, UK) and the Centre Pompidou (Paris, France).
