Alexandre Sacha Putov

Born in Russia on March 9, 1940, and died in France in November 2008, Alexander Sacha Putov was an Israeli painter associated with the Art-Cloche movement developed in the 1980s. After studying medicine, he turned to art in Moscow. In 1972, he exhibited at the home of the poet Vladislav Lion. His paintings were soon noticed by art critics and collectors the world over. It was thanks to dealers Jean Charles Riz, Jean Maignan and Bela Gelman that his work gained recognition. His biography, Le Réalisme du dessin, was published in 2013, along with a catalog tracing his artistic practice from 1973 to 1986.
