About the artwork
This monochrome work features a female silhouette cut off at the head. While the painting is treated in solid red, the woman's skin is composed of interlocking shapes resembling graphs. The painting is painted in solid colors, except for the woman's skin, which is made up of superimposed shapes that resemble graphs. This form of signature affixed by the artist to the female body questions the place of women in modern visual culture. FenX plays with the duality between abstraction and figuration, exploring sensuality and intimacy through a monochrome palette.
Expert opinion
This work is representative of FenX's style, which, through its use of color and form, succeeds in capturing an intimate yet universal dimension, reminiscent of the neo-pop movement.
