About the artwork
On photo paper, five ink stains occupy the center of the composition. Two large, three small. Are the small spots deliberately present on the paper, or are they the result of the others? Whatever the case, Nareh Petrossian's work questions the trace. Both discreet and fragile, it is also the center of the work. From trace to everything, it changes dimension and scale. Between strength and fragility, emptiness and fullness, this work exudes a highly poetic energy.
Expert opinion
This delicate and poetic ink on paper questions the trace. It's a subject that's often addressed in the work of Armenian artist Nare Petrosyan.
