About the artist
Ma Dan is a Chinese artist born in 1985. Her vibrantly colored paintings are scenarios of joyful childhood. They repeatedly feature a young child, her back to the viewer, absorbed in a fantastical landscape where animals and captivating plants mingle. Ma Dan's work has been exhibited in the United States, Taiwan, Beijing and at numerous international fairs, and has proved popular with collectors in all these places. A monographic catalog was dedicated to her after several solo exhibitions at the Amy Li Gallery in Beijing. She is also represented by Pellas Gallery in Boston.
