About the artwork

This 2025 enamel edition by Parra (Pieter Janssen) showcases the artist’s unmistakable visual universe — a world of hybrid characters, bold silhouettes, and surreal humor rendered in his signature palette of saturated reds, blues, and soft gradients. In this composition, Parra presents a stylized anthropomorphic figure, muscular, bird-headed, and wearing a patterned loincloth, set within a dreamlike landscape of rounded trees and flowing shapes. The contrast between flat areas of vibrant color and the thick black outlines creates a graphic intensity that recalls the artist’s roots in illustration, skate culture, and underground typography. The enamel finish enhances the clarity and luminosity of the work, giving the surface a smooth, almost sculptural quality. Deliberately playful yet unmistakably precise, the artwork captures Parra’s ability to fuse pop culture, mythology, and abstraction into a contemporary iconography that is entirely his own. As a signed edition accompanied by a COA, this piece represents a strong example of Parra’s highly sought-after editions, combining striking aesthetics with the technical excellence of enamel production.

Expert opinion

Tarzan Interrupted is a perfect example of Parra's instantly recognizable visual universe, where humor, absurdity and graphic simplicity come together in a highly distinctive style. The composition features one of the artist's iconic elongated figures, rendered in his signature palette of vibrant reds, soft pinks and bright blues, creating a scene that feels both playful and slightly surreal. Parra's work occupies a unique position between contemporary art, illustration, graphic design and street culture. His characters, with their exaggerated forms and ambiguous narratives, invite viewers to construct their own interpretations while maintaining an immediate visual appeal. Produced in a limited edition of 125, this enamel work demonstrates the artist's ability to translate his bold visual language into a durable and highly collectible medium. The combination of strong colors, clean lines and humorous storytelling makes Tarzan Interrupted particularly appealing to collectors of contemporary graphic art and works at the intersection of pop culture and fine art. As Parra's international reputation continues to grow through museum exhibitions, collaborations and institutional recognition, editioned works such as this remain highly sought after for their accessibility, visual impact and unmistakable artistic identity.
