About the artwork
Wei Ping, also known as "Sunny", paints the portrait of a young Asian woman in red. Like an escape for the artist or a reminder for viewers, the subject's facial features are accompanied by the words "stop" and "thinking", echoing the title of the work and the annotation beneath the portrait: "The song from Heart".
Expert opinion
This work seems to pay homage to the artist's first series of portraits, which made his name in 2008 and already included the words "stop" and "thinking".
