About the artwork
This set consists of three sculptures depicting KAWS's emblematic cross-eyed figures. These "Companions" are presented here bent forward with arms relaxed and heads bowed, evoking a sense of sadness, shame or vulnerability. The huddled attitude of the figures breaks with the usually dynamic and jovial posture of pop culture characters, introducing an emotional and existential dimension.
