About the artwork
This painting features a canvas largely dominated by shades of white and gray, on which in the background the artist has sketched a delicate scene with dark touches and slight accents of red, creating a subtle contrast. The texture of the paint, apparent and slightly rough, evokes the feel of ice or snow. The work's title, "Seasonal Mood", suggests that it embodies an exploration of the seasons through abstract, minimalist elements. Here, Jan K plays with simplicity of form and richness of texture to engage the viewer in a contemplative process, where the vastness and tranquility of nature seem to unfold.
