About the artwork
Pedal Chain reveals Stefan Müller's abstract approach, blending spontaneous gestures with colorfully layered surfaces. The work explores repetition and visual rhythm, evoking a process akin to musical minimalism or looped plastic writing.
Expert opinion
Müller combines gestural energy with sobriety, creating works in which every trace counts. His paintings, both minimalist and vibrant, invite us to meditate on time and rhythm.
About the artist
Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1971, Stefan Müller lives and works in Berlin. Trained at the Städelschule, he has made a name for himself on the German and international scene with his abstract painting, which has a sober, gestural aesthetic. His work, exhibited at Kunsthalle Zürich, Galerie Neu in Berlin and Tanya Leighton Gallery, is recognized for its ability to create subtle tensions between control and spontaneity, tradition and contemporary radicalism (Galerie Neu).
