About the artwork
This delicate seascape by Roland de Laforcade captures the serene meeting of sea, sky and land in a luminous composition evoking both calm and immensity. The artist's refined use of tonal gradations - from the deep blues of the waves to the soft ochres of the sandy shore - creates an impression of depth and atmospheric movement. The light clouds scattered across the sky lend the scene a poetic dimension, expressing a suspended moment between movement and immobility.
Expert opinion
La Rhume illustrates Laforcade's mastery of subtle chromatic layering and his sensitivity to natural light. His talent for balancing precision and emotion places him in the tradition of modern French landscape painters who reinterpret nature with lyricism. The discreet harmony and sober palette of this print make it a timeless reflection on the solitude and beauty of the everyday horizon.
