Expert opinion
From an expert and market point of view, Kit #16: Flashinvader is a particularly relevant piece in Invader's oeuvre. The kits produced in the early 2010s are highly sought-after today, as they correspond to a pivotal period when the artist was consolidating his international recognition and structuring his production in limited editions. The 200-copy print run offers an interesting balance between distribution and rarity, making the work accessible yet desirable over the long term. Its immediately recognizable iconography, its clear belonging to the Invader kit series and its aesthetic legibility make it a stable piece that can be easily resold on the secondary market, ideal for collectors wishing to acquire an emblematic work by the artist.
About the artist
Invader (b. 1969, France) is a leading figure in urban art. He is famous for his Space Invader-inspired mosaics, installed on the walls of over 80 cities worldwide. His work, both discreet and omnipresent, questions visual invasion, collective memory and urban cartography.
His visual language, based on the pixel as a basic unit, evokes geek culture, street art and the decorative arts. He also creates limited-edition works, such as this silkscreen, which translate his universe into more intimate formats.
