About the artwork
This surreal composition features stylized female body shapes. The hands, adorned with pink chains and blue ribbons, intertwine on a pastel-green background decorated with daisies, creating a contrasting composition that is both sensual and intriguing. The figures, with their pastel hues and soft contours, evoke a certain ambiguity between abstraction and figuration, inviting the viewer to introspective contemplation. Sarah Slappey explores themes of femininity, vulnerability and power, inviting the viewer to reflect deeply on symbolic and physical connections.
