Expert opinion

Emblematic of Captain Co's artistic universe, this canvas draws on his knowledge of art history, which is dear to his work.

About the artist

Originally from Alsace, Captain Co has followed a rich artistic path that has taken him to Strasbourg, Lille, Lyon, Beirut (Lebanon), Florence (Italy) and finally Paris. A graduate in art conservation and restoration, it was during his studies that he discovered his passion for practical art, notably through the study of art history and oil painting copying. His personal creation is mainly based on acrylic paint and charcoal drawing. Her painting is constantly evolving, always guided by a deep interest in the contrasts between light and shadow, calm and storm, visible and invisible. This duality manifests itself in the subtle interplay of brushes and knives on his canvases. Although his artistic journey began under the influence of pop art, he soon moved towards a more figurative, academic expression. He strives to capture the viewer's attention with contemporary, colorful interpretations of classic works by the great masters of art history.
