About the artwork
In this photograph, Milomir Kovačević captures one of the legendary chimeras of Notre-Dame de Paris overlooking the city at night. The lights of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower appear in the distance, offering a striking contrast between medieval mythology and modern Paris. The gargoyle, at once playful and menacing, seems to observe the capital with eternal vigilance, bridging centuries of history in a single frame.
Expert opinion
This image is emblematic of Kovačević’s ability to combine documentary precision with poetic resonance. His lens transforms the gargoyle into a living presence, both guardian and witness of the city’s history. The photograph demonstrates his mastery of chiaroscuro and composition: the deep blacks, the luminous reflections of the river, and the distant silhouette of the Eiffel Tower create a timeless portrait of Paris. For collectors, this work represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire a piece that unites French cultural heritage with the singular eye of a photographer known for his sensitivity and narrative power.
