À propos de l'œuvre
A dynamic composition unfolds on a cardboard support, featuring a central female figure rendered in a graphic, stylized manner. The figure, depicted in a seated or crouching pose, wears a beanie, headphones, and a dark, flowing garment, with a fanny pack slung across her chest. Her skin tone is rendered in warm, earthy hues, contrasting with the stark black of her clothing and the white outlines that define her form.
The background of the piece is characterized by radiating yellow and brown stripes, suggesting a burst of light or energy. Integrated into this background are several panels resembling comic book frames, featuring monochrome illustrations and French text, adding a narrative dimension to the work. The artist's signature,"OPOIL," is visible on the fanny pack, while the title of the work is prominently displayed in a bold,graffiti-style font in the upper right quadrant.
The lower portion of the composition is dominated by abstract, organic shapes in brown and white, which appear to emanate from the central figure, creating a sense of movement and dissolution. Yellow, elongated exclamation-mark-like forms are scattered throughout, contributing to the energetic and graphic quality of the piece. The overall aesthetic combines elements of street art,pop art,and comic book illustration, reflecting a contemporary urban sensibility.
Avis de l'expert
This artwork situates itself within the broader context of Street Art and Figurative Contemporary art, drawing on established visual vocabularies from graffiti, comic books, and pop culture. The use of mixed media on cardboard,a common practice in urban art, connects the piece to the ephemeral and accessible nature of street art while elevating it to a gallery context. The artist's membership in the Mad Heresy collective further anchors the work within a specific community and artistic lineage.
In the current art market, works that bridge street art origins with a developed studio practice are gaining increased attention. The artist's distinctive style, combining detailed figuration with graphic elements and narrative fragments, appeals to collectors interested in contemporary urban narratives and visually engaging compositions. The presence of a certificate of authenticity is a standard practice that supports the work's market position and provenance.
