Artiste japonais né en 1962. Vit et travaille entre New York, Munich et Tokyo. Diplômé de l'université des beaux-arts et de la musique de Tokyo. Considéré comme l'un des artistes les plus novateurs de son époque, Takashi Murakami jouit d'une réputation qui dépasse largement le monde de l'art. Il est surtout connu pour ses collaborations avec le monde du luxe et de la mode, notamment Marc Jacobs et Louis Vuitton. Ses œuvres ont été exposées dans le monde entier, notamment au Mori Art Museum de Tokyo, au musée Guggenheim de Bilbao et au Château de Versailles.
