À propos de l'œuvre
The artwork is a signed copy of the "ALL GONE" book, a publication that documents street culture's products, collaborations, and trends. This particular edition features Futura's artwork on its cover, showcasing a group of his stylized, anthropomorphic figures rendered in a palette of muted and vibrant colors. The figures are distinctly outlined, exhibiting characteristics of his abstract graffiti style, with some appearing to wear hooded garments or helmets.
The “ALL GONE” series, published by La MJC and authored by Michael Dupouy, began in 2006 and serves as an annual chronicle of influential items in streetwear, art, and design. Each year’s edition often features collaborations with artists for its cover design, making these books collectible items within the street culture community. This volume, dated 2005, predates the official 2006 launch of the annual series, suggesting it may be a precursor or a special edition.
Avis de l'expert
The "ALL GONE" series occupies a specific niche within the contemporary art and collectibles market, bridging the gap between street culture, fashion, and fine art. Publications like this, especially when signed by a prominent artist such as Futura, hold a dual appeal: as documentation of cultural phenomena and as limited-edition art objects. Futura’s involvement with the cover design places this book within his broader body of work, which includes paintings, sculptures, and various commercial collaborations.
The market for Futura’s work has shown consistent activity, with his paintings fetching auction prices of up to $504,000 and his works on paper averaging around $2,318 over the past year. While books generally command lower prices than unique artworks, signed editions by artists of Futura’s stature can attract collectors interested in his comprehensive body of work and the historical context of street art. The “ALL GONE” series itself is recognized as a landmark in street culture, and early or artist-designed editions are particularly sought after.
