Timm Blandin

Born in 1987, Timm Blandin is a French painter. Fascinated by photography and realistic drawing, he naturally turned to figurative painting, a style he continues to explore today. Working on canvas and paper, he favors acrylic paint, and conducts much of his research with colored pencil, oil pastel, felt-tip pen or fine point. The treatment of colors and the play of light and shadow are at the heart of his artistic practice. He draws his inspiration from digital data, using Google Street View as a tool, along with his own experiences, to project himself into new landscapes to explore. His creations are rooted in dreams and travel. His works, born of his wanderings, highlight the beauty of everyday landscapes. Driven by a desire to escape and pause, Timm chooses to reveal unexplored places, imagining spaces both real and fantasized. His colorful, immersive world unfolds like an open window on an unknown California, suspended in time, halfway between dream and reality.
