Sarah Maple

Born in the UK in 1985 to a Muslim mother and Christian father, Sarah Maple graduated in Fine Art from Kingston University in 2007. Her work, influenced by her own experience as a Muslim woman in the South of England, tackles questions of gender, sexuality and religion with humor and provocation. Her propensity for self-staging adds a personal and introspective dimension to her work. In 2007, Sarah won the "4 New Sensations" award supported by renowned gallery owner Charles Saatchi, which aims to highlight the most imaginative talent among UK Fine Art students. This recognition marked the start of his artistic career. After Tate Britain, New Art Exchange and Golden Thread Gallery, Sarah Maple published her first book in 2015, You Could Have Done This, a collection of works. In 2019, her first solo exhibition is presented in the United States, "Thoughts and Prayers", at Untitled Space in New York, exploring topical political and social issues such as immigration.
