PichiAvo
Pichiavo is the artistic name for the Spanish duo comprised of Juan Antonio Pichi (born 1977) and Sandra Pichiavo (born 1980). They began their collaboration in 2004, initially focusing on graffiti art in their native Valencia. Over time, their practice evolved to incorporate elements of classical art, particularly ancient Greek and Roman sculpture, into their distinct street art style. Their work often features detailed, realistic depictions of classical figures juxtaposed with vibrant, dynamic graffiti tags and abstract forms. The duo has gained international recognition for their large-scale murals and public art installations, which can be found in cities across Europe, North America, and Asia. Their studio practice extends to canvases, sculptures, and various mixed media works, where they continue to explore the dialogue between historical art forms and contemporary urban culture. Their aesthetic bridges the gap between the ephemeral nature of street art and the enduring legacy of classical antiquity, creating a unique visual language that has been exhibited in galleries and institutions worldwide.
