Olivier Mosset

Born in Berne in 1944, Olivier Mosset is a Swiss visual artist who lives and works in Arizona and Switzerland. He is best known to the public for having been part, in 1967 - 1968, of the movement initiated by four artists in revolt against the art establishment: Buren, Mosset, Parmentier and Toroni. Although he is now a major symbolic figure for the younger generation of contemporary European and American painters, little is known about the rest of his career. His work is not confined to the famous "Circles" of the BMPT period. Through geometric abstraction, monochrome and post-abstraction, she has been meditating for forty years on the future of painting in the age of globalized capitalism. Since 1977, he has lived between two continents, and thanks to this dialogue, he has built up a body of work in keeping with both American formats and Western critical reflection.
