Obvious
Obvious is a collective of three French friends, Pierre Fautrel, Hugo Caselles-Dupré and Gauthier Vernier, all born in 1993. Artists and researchers, they use artificial intelligence, and more specifically GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) algorithms, to create their works. Their creations are signed with the algorithmic formula that generated them. Pioneers of digital art, they were the first French artists to create NFTs, back in 2018, with the work "Eryn Nemesis". Their works are exhibited worldwide, including at the National Museum of China in Beijing (2019), Haus der Kunst in Munich (2020), and Galerie Danysz in Paris (2022). They gained notoriety with the sale of their painting "Edmond de Belamy" at Christie's New York in 2018 for over $400,000.
