Madame

Madame is a visual artist from Tours (France). Trained as an actress and stage designer, she turned to urban art, specializing in collages. She evolves in a vintage universe, working with old magazine papers dating from the early 20th century to the 70s. Inspired simply by her life, her work bears witness to the influence of her family, her childhood and her many travels. The artist gives shape to offbeat characters playing with irony and the question of identity, a process through which she seeks to explore the notion of "transgression", notably of meanings, genders, borders, laws, and preconceived ideas about men, women and love. Her work has been the subject of public exhibitions in Italy (Cheap Festival, 2015), Portugal (Loures Street art festival, 2016), Germany (UFAM festival, 2015), France (Fresco for Roland-Garros, 2019; Piscine Molitor, 2019). She has also been the subject of monographic exhibitions (Traffic Gallery, Bergamo (Italy), 2014; Centre des Monuments Nationaux au Château d'If, Marseille, 2018; Galerie Tschaen, Colmar, 2019).
