Julien Beneyton

Born in France in 1977, Julien Beneyton is a contemporary painter who divides his time between Amsterdam and Paris. Trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris between 1997 and 2002, he quickly developed an artistic style marked by urban culture and hip hop. Through his canvases, he continues to explore themes such as collective memory and identity, depicting anonymous characters in urban environments. His career has been marked by artistic residencies at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in 2010, and at Pienkow in Poland in 2004. His work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions, including Art Projects and Aides at the Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris in 2009. In 2011, the Maison des Arts de Malakoff presented his work in an exhibition entitled "La Régulière", and the Galerie Olivier Robert followed suit with a solo show entitled "Je représente". An internationally recognized artist, his work is part of major collections, including the MAMCO in Geneva and the Fonds National d'Art Contemporain in France.
