Francis Saleil

A graduate in architecture and design, Francis Saleil began his career designing contemporary furniture. During this period, he worked for the publisher David Lange, distributed by Roche Bobois. His talent was recognized in this field, and one of his creations was awarded the Via prize. Later, he broadened his field of artistic expression by turning to argentic photography. Each of his photographic creations is designed as a single copy. His use of chiaroscuro produces contrasting effects of light and shadow. Abandoning figurative representation, his creations are driven by abstraction, prompting him to reinterpret his panels by cutting them into different planes within the same support. Represented by Galerie d'Emma in Saint Raphaël, his work was presented at the 54th edition of the Safranité art festival in Saint Raphaël.
