Florent Touchot

Florent Touchot is a contemporary French visual artist whose practice revolves around collage, image recovery and visual assemblage. His work questions memory, popular icons and the power of old images through compositions that are often circular or geometric, and marked by a strong narrative charge. Touchot draws on forgotten archives - newspapers, advertisements, found documents - to create hybrid works, halfway between art brut, pop art and visual poetry. Through his collages, he explores the links between past and present, authenticity and staging, while creating a personal and recognizable plastic language.
