Elise Barat

Élise Barat is a contemporary French artist whose work explores the relationship between memory, matter and perception. Through a practice centered on painting and drawing, she develops a sensitive language in which the figure, often fragmented or suggested, dialogues with silent spaces and refined compositions. Her work questions notions of intimacy, presence and temporality, deliberately leaving room for ambiguity and interpretation on the part of the viewer.
