Edel Rodriguez
Born in Havana (Cuba) in 1971, Edel Rodriguez is an artist and author of children's books. He began his career as editor of Time magazine from 1994 to 2008, where he undertook a major illustration project. He continued in the commercial field, creating covers for magazines such as The Times and Communication Arts. In 2017, he graced the cover of Der Spiegel magazine with an image of US President Donald Trump beheading the Statue of Liberty. Distributed worldwide, this cover was followed by a four-year series of satirical illustrations, concluding in 2020 after the election of Joe Biden. His work, in all its political dimensions, has been widely disseminated and acclaimed throughout Western society. He has also taken part in numerous exhibitions, notably at Antwerp's Mekanik Strip Gallery and at Lyons Weir Ltd. Gallery in New York in 2011.
