Clara Claus

Born in 1985, Clara Claus is a French visual artist who lives and works between Paris and the South of France. Having drawn and painted from an early age, she went on to study art at the Duperré School in Paris and then at the Cooper Union in New York. Through painting, drawing, performance and video, she explores the relationship between the invisible, memory and the search for trace. She uses color in her work as a fusion between a palette inspired by her native southern France and another discovered during her travels and studies in the United States. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including at the Basu Foundation in Calcutta (India), the Galerie Danysz in Paris (France) and the Elizabeth Street Garden in New York (USA). She has also participated in artist residencies at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn (USA) and Espronceda in Barcelona (Spain).
